Purpose of the Program
Mechanical engineering is a field of engineering that includes activities related to the design, analysis and production of mechanical systems. In design and analysis, a mathematical model is developed by utilizing the basic principles of mechanics. In manufacturing, activities are carried out to achieve the optimum production speed by using the latest technologies in electronics and computers. Due to its wide scope, mechanical engineering is not a single concept that comes to mind most of the time. For example, heat and installation engineering, construction and manufacturing engineering, automotive engineering are all branches of engineering based on mechanical engineering. In addition to having these basic sub-fields, it is an engineering field that also constitutes the infrastructure for interdisciplinary research topics such as biomechanics and mechatronics. Due to this wide area of influence, mechanical engineering has become a branch of engineering that is highly valued all over the world.
