Bioengineering
Mission
To be equipped with comprehensive courses on basic and applied sciences and laboratory courses and practices in line with the needs of the industry, within the scope of supporting multidisciplinary research and education. To be an institution that provides quality education and encourages a multidisciplinary research environment that seeks knowledge that will form the basis for the rapid development of our department. To train dynamic engineers who can understand, explain and interpret problems in living organisms (physiology, biology) and produce innovative solutions with engineering sciences.
Vision
To produce innovative technologies to improve the health and production of living things by using engineering science. To adopt a collaborative approach and understanding in research, to bridge different disciplines and to produce original solutions to problems in the environment, health, agriculture and industrial fields. To train engineers who are knowledgeable about local and national problems in the commercial and academic arenas and who can compete with different branches of science.
Main Discipline Facilities
There are 2 professors, 4 doctoral faculty members and 4 research assistants within the Department of Bioengineering. The devices/equipment in 4 research laboratories are sufficient to continue thesis studies and research projects.
Employment Facilities
Candidates graduating from the bioengineering program can work in the research and development fields of many different health and engineering sectors in line with the knowledge and skills required to solve problems related to health, environment, agriculture, industry and biotechnology, which are the basic areas of bioengineering. Master's degree graduates of the program can have many job opportunities in the state and private sector companies. Agriculture and animal husbandry field: Use of enzymes in obtaining raw materials, production of substances useful for agriculture, development of disease-resistant plants, designing new antimicrobial materials, etc. Environmental application areas: Processing waste materials into useful substances, wastewater treatment, etc. Health application areas: Drug development, pesticide development, biological control, device and system development, smart systems. Gene therapies and stem cell applications. Hospitals and other clinical areas, domestic and foreign biotechnology companies Energy Sector: Methane gas production, algae green energy production.
